Description
Aluminium hydroxide, a white amorphous powder with the chemical formula Al(OH)₃, is an inorganic basic salt that neutralizes stomach acid. It is also known as aluminic acid, aluminic hydroxide, or aluminium (III) hydroxide. In nature, it exists as the mineral gibbsite and its polymorphs. Aluminium hydroxide is amphoteric, meaning it can act as both an acid and a base, and is insoluble in water but soluble in both acidic and alkaline solutions.
