Description
Povidone-iodine (PVP-I) is a topical antiseptic agent widely used to prevent and treat infections. It’s a stable chemical complex of polyvinylpyrrolidone (povidone, PVP) and elemental iodine, commonly known as an iodophor because povidone acts as a carrier for iodine.
